You'll receive enough flyers to post with all of you collection boxes.  We send a variety of the flyers created for

Operation Green.

You will also receive art to put on the front of the collection boxes that has been created specifically for

PTK Operation Green.

 

 

    

Remember!  Recycling is an ongoing, year round program.  It's important

for your students and facility to know that collection boxes will always be available. 

 

These programs are very successful on many campuses because students use inkjets!

Students are also very busy and you usually have to tell them many times to get them engaged.

You will probably have to communicate it many ways and many times for the first couple of months.

The items listed below are important to the success of your program.

 

Be ready to implement your program before you order supplies.

 

1.  Have people in your chapter that are in charge of the recycling.

     a.  Assign each inkjet collection box to one person in the chapter.

     b.  Check your boxes at least weekly to see if they need to be shipped.

     c.  If you don't fill a box in about 3 weeks, you may need a better location or you

          may need to re-communicate the program and location of the collection boxes.

2.  Know where you are going to place your collection boxes so you can put the location of

     your collection boxes in all of your communications to students and facility.

3.  Know how you are going to communicate it to the students and facility.

4.  Make sure there isn't already a different group running an inkjet recycling program on campus.

 

 It usually takes around 3 weeks to fill up a box.  If you aren't getting these results, please look at ways to get the word out on campus again.  

 

An email to all the professors to mention it in their classrooms is one of the most effective ways to get the word to ALL students.  Professors are usually very happy to help if you ask!

 

Colleges nationwide are doing inkjet recycling because all students use them.  They are successful if the campus is aware of the program and you do usually have to tell people multiple times!  They'll think about it when they have something to recycle, so please make your program visible.

Once they are up and running successfully, students and facility just keep recycling!

 

 

SHIPPING LABELS

 

If you get confused. . . . .

 

1.  Inkjet shipping labels come with your boxes and are Fed Ex labels with a return address of:

                                Recycling Center

                                Chatsworth, CA 91311

You must fill out your return address and put them on your collection boxes to ship.

 

2.  Cell Phone shipping labels are U.S. Postal Service labels and are shipped to Ocala FL

     Cell Phone USPS labels CAN ONLY be used with U.S. Postal Service Flat Rate Boxes.

 

Please do not ship inkjets to Ocala FL and do not ship cell phones to Chatsworth CA
